This afternoon Ann and I went for a walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the "mild" weather (40 degrees).

On the way back home, we paused to watch a bunch of turkeys cross the road (apparently they were in search of food). At first we just saw five, then we noticed three more, then we saw another five, so there was a baker's dozen of turkeys.

that's a whole lot of turkeys.

there's a flock of turkeys that hang out in the state park across the street from where i work, so we occasionally get turkeys in the parking lot, lurking between the parked cars.

I'm happy the turkeys are back. Remember when canada geese were a rare and treasured sight? Where have all the pheasants gone though? They're not a native NE bird, but they are the one large game bird I remember seeing a bunch of as a kid.

Very cool! There are a few turkeys in a neighborhood we drive through in Chestnut Hill sometimes, it's always neat when we see them.
