Superbowl Free
Feb. 6th, 2005 07:24 pmAfter visiting Alex & Rich, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I decided to stop at Oscar's Pinata, a local mexican restaurant and bar for dinner. The illuminated sign in front said "Superbowl Free", apparently that means "free viewing" not "free of the Superbowl".
Even though our table is in the corner away from the bar we can still hear the fans in the bar cheering and stomping when ever the Patriots score a point (or groaning when the Eagles do well). Soon after the couple who arrived after us also mentioned they were hoping to avoid the Superbowl, the waitress put on some Mexican music. It didn't drown out the noise of the fans but it did silence the droning commentors.
Even in the Mens Room I couldn't escape the game. While washing my hands, the guy at the urinal started talking to me about the game.
p.s. the food at Oscar's Pinta is good. But we probably won't go back there on Kareoke night.
