  quietann and I are planning a trip to California later this month, so I ordered a guide book for California from Amazon.com a few days ago.  Periodically, I've been checking the UPS site to see when the book might get here.  This afternoon, the website said that it had been delivered.  So I wandered down to my door and found that the website was correct; there was a package waiting for me.

Meant to respond regarding California plans elsewhere, but I lost track. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend staying in Cambria during the Hearst Castle part of your trip. It's a great town as I recall, and Moonstone Beach is a very nice place for a walk. Don't have recs for specific places to stay, but there are tons of b&b's and such in the area.

Hope to cross paths with y'all at ConJose'; we won't be able to visit CA much beyond the con this time around...
