Popping Pumpkin Pickup Post

At the moment, I don't have a cap on the back of my pickup truck, but I do have a small, bright orange, pumpkin shaped trick-or-treat bucket in the back of the pickup truck.

While driving down the highway today, I could hear the bucket bouncing around, then suddenly I noticed a flash of orange in my rearview mirror. Then it appeared again. In the weird aerodynamics of the truck bed, periodically the wind would catch the bucket and cause it to rise up high enough that I could see it, but not so high that it would leave the truck.

I wonder what the cars behind me thought about the popping pumpkin?
