I ordered a pair of shoes online yesterday. UPS reports that they've left Florida and are on their way to me. I have a vision of the shoes hopping on to I-95 and walking up the highway to me.
It's precisely because of this possibility that I'm glad the "95 in 95" Worldcon bid never gained critical mass: knowing my luck, I'd have been tapped for logistics, and what a bitch that would have been.
OK, technically, yes, no traffic lights; but there's the tolls in New Jersey, and IIRC, there's another one in Baltimore, at the tunnel. Trucks aren't allowed on the "Express" side of the NJTP. But I hear you on the "easy access from the highway" angle.
Dchenes and I used to have a running joke similar to this about someone I know's pants. You see, he was a musician as well as a tech so he sometimes had dress clothes and a trombone with him at jobs because he had to go play a gig directly afterward. Not infrequently he'd change clothing before leaving the job and leave behind an article of clothing by accident which one of us would eventually return. As a joke one of the techs once held a pair of his pants for ransom. This turned into a running series of made up ransom notes that Dchenes and I improvised about the pants.
