On Thursday, I went to see "The Incredible Hulk" with J. at Chunky's Cinema & Pub in Pelham, NH. The movie wasn't as bad as I feared it might be based upon the trailer I saw (it was even better than the first movie). Both Iron Man and The Hulk had a little extra bit at the end. Can't help wondering if they are planning to come out with a movie that links it all together.

Chunky's was an interesting place to see a movie. I didn't peek in the other theaters, but our theater had three long tables running the length of the room, and the seats were leather car seats from Lincolns with wheels underneath so you can turn to face the table or the screen, or halfway in between. Most of the people at the theater seemed to be family groups, except the gaggle of a dozen teens next to us. until the movie started they were rather noisy.

The menu is comparable to 99 with salads, hamburgers (and veggie burgers), steak, and desserts. They have a liquor license so you can get a drink with your meal. The prices aren't too high (you can view the menu online). Dinner for two people came to about ~$30 (not including tip).

Before the movie started, service was pretty good. But once the movie started it took a while for someone to show up. When you arrive at the theater, you can get a little device (about the size of an ashtray) the lights up when you press a button to signal that you want a waitress. Having the staff clear the tables (during the movie) or bring out the bill (just before the end of the movie) wasn't too distracting.

There was a place like that in Arlington, VA. I think they only had 2nd run movies though. It was a lot of fun the handful of times I went though. :)

The one in Nashua is the same thing-- it's supposed to be the cinematic equivalent of dinner theatre.
Did you notice the seats recline?

Strangely enough, we went to the Route One Cinema Pub (http://www.cinema-pub.com/) in North Attleboro on Thursday night. It was similar in some ways. On the other hand, it was probably a more limited menu and was showing second or third run movies. We saw 21. Service was similarly spotty to yours. There was no special device for getting service. Instead you put the salt and pepper shakers at the kitchen end of the table when you wanted service. There was a mix of two-top and four-top tables. It looks like you could have combined some of the four-top tables to make larger tables. There were two theaters with one show each of two different movies (equal four total) each day. A pitcher of Bass was $15 and sanwiches were about $7-8. So "dinner" for two came to about $30 plus tax and tip.
