What goes "buzz buzz snap crackle THUMP!"



A tree being cut down.

Sitting about 300' away, and on the second floor, I felt the tree go THUMP when it hit the ground.

They've been clearing trees for the development across the street. Today they started soon after 7am. The noise of the chain saw overwhelmed earplugs and a white noise machine. :(

Until things quiet down, I'm planning on going to sleep by midnight on "school nights."

I have a large industrial-sized box of disposable earplugs (NRR 33 dB) at home. I could give you and Ann several pairs, if you think that'd help. I should point out that these are the same brand we used to use at the steel plant to muffle the noise from an electric arc furnace, so they're pretty good.

I would not mind a pair of those to see if they work better than the ones I've got...not sure when I would see you, though...

I dunno. we could arrange to meet someplace, maybe? In any event I'll likely be at the End of Summer party in a few weeks.
