Interestingly at work, I get to hear about what's going on with forests in the rest of the world, and how China and India are trying to plant millions of hectares of trees and the like. (These days, somehow, people seem to be paying more attention to what denuding the land actually does.) But what I ironically don't get to hear about is how America is being deforested by housing developers. I was back in Dallas about a year and a half, and over about three miles, where there were only grazing pastures, now there are starter castles.
