Dreamwidth Invite

If anyone is interested, here is how I got a Dreamwidth account without getting an invite from a friend.

Yesterday afternoon (before the account signup opened up), I used my LJ OpenID (deguspice.livejournal.com) to sign into Dreamwidth (read-only access). After I setup the account, I clicked on the button to verify my email address. This morning, there was an email from Dreamwidth saying that in appreciation for my confirming my email address, they invited my to signup for an account.

it needed to be done before midnight, eastern, last night, though. otherwise you'll get it when you get it with their controlled gateways.

Tried that, so far it's only read-only. Maybe tomorrow.

I did what you did and got the same invite...but I'm confused. Haven't we already opened accounts using OpenID?

I believe the OpenID accounts are read only. I think you can leave comments, but you can't create posts)
