This is a picture of the shells of peas.

quietann's rats prefer the insides of peas, so they will very carefully remove the shells and discard them. Later on, if they're hungry, they'll eat the shells.

wow- that's so cute! I was going to say they were little pooped seed pods of some sort. How dainty of the rats!
